These Levi 501 jeans shorts are a classic. They go up to the waist. The leg opening is neither too tight nor too baggy. Normally I take a 33″ waist. I bought the 33″ waist & had to return them because they immediately stretched & ended up too big. I then bought the 32″ waist which initially was too tight but like the first pair they immediately began to stretch & ended up being a perfect fit. The take away is that when considering the size recognize that there will be some stretching .

These from Amazon are just like the 501’s I bought from Macy’s. They are authentic you can tell by the tags. Made in Mexico the rivets match and the paper tags match. I ordered two. I’m 5’9″ 170 Lbs and these 32 waist fit just right and hang just above the knees straight leg style not relaxed or skinny fit. The seat fits comfortably not too snug and not baggy.

A bit confused with all the great reviews as I am not 100% sure these 501 Levi shorts are authentic. They’re not the same quality as the 501’s I bought from the Levi’s store. The reason for the 3 stars is they fit and as stated I am not 100% sure. I live in Thailand and I see some good copies of almost all brands.

That being said, this is my second pair. Had to reorder because they do run bigger then my 501 pants which are a 32″. First pair order where a 32″, second pair was 31″ and they fit perfectly. Did not return the first pair because I just threw them in the wash thinking the would fit like the pants, well they didn’t. Nice jean shorts though, love them.

But 4 buttons as a fly instead of a zipper ? Not for me…
I did not even think about checking that before buying. To be honest i have never seen that before in anything besides maybe some underwear …. Had to return it ..

Levi’s Men’s 501 Hemmed Short Just like my jeans!
If you love the 501 Jeans like I do then you will also love these button down Levi’s Men’s 501 Hemmed Shorts. They are a little pricey considering they are almost as much as a pair of the jeans but I love the fact they are button down like my favorite jeans and fit just as well.
Very comfortable, good looking quality seems good but hard to find certain styles and colors! (Amazon)

My husband looks great. They have a more narrow straight leg then the 505 or 550 shorts. They are a more slimming look. They are made well and he says they are comfortable.

Ok, just put them on today. They are a perfect fit. They are a bit thinner than traditional 501s but I would guess that’s due to the stretch denim. I do wish that it would have had a traditional hem…its really thin. All in all I feel that I got my money’s worth. Just what I expected from Levi Strauss 501s.

I don’t even know where to start, I have always worn levi’s and they are the best in my opinion. I can’t say enough about them, what other jean can you wear out and only make them more valuable, wish I could work that out with cars.Any way get you some levi’s you’ll love them

I ordered two pairs of these shorts and one pair is fine but the other pair I just washed and I had to iron the flap to the buttons because it was sticking straight out and I had to iron the bottoms of each short as it was curling up.
So I washed them a second and third time thinking that would help, but the same problems accrued.
I have worn these 501 shorts for years and never had this problem. I would have sent them back except I hadn’t worn or washed them till last week on vacation and the window to return them was while I was on vacation.

As others have mentioned, these run small and do not stretch. They look good, but you’ll need to order about two sizes up to get them to fit.

As several have written, fabric is thinner than the classic 501. However, this works for me. I purchased two pair, one fits better than the second pair – the second seems a bit more snug in an area where I’d like more room (the crotch). They both seem well made, and should hold up to regular wearing.
