I have always gotten what was pictured on Amazon but in this case the picture belies the fit. It does say “loose fit” but the picture will make you think it’s not that loose. It is! If you are looking for room, this is right for you. If not, keep looking.

I love these shorts. I even bought a second pair. I wasn’t expecting them to be stretchy all over. Even around the waist. I wear my shorts/pants around my stomach. Below my bellybutton. I’m not very thin around the waist. Without a belt, it’s not tight at all. Barely snug on the body. But I do have to wear a belt with them. It’s stretchy around the legs and seat. So when I get up and in the seat of my car, I don’t have to adjust as much as I would with regular jeans.

For me, it’s not very comfortable to wear. The waist is a little bit larger than expected, but the pants are tighter between the legs at the same time. Strange form, that makes it not very comfortable to wear. I was quite disappointed.

I like these Amazon Basics Jean shorts. They are a little loose around the waist. I would say they run about 1/2 inch larger than most other brand jean shorts that are size 38. I am thinking a size 36 probably would have fit me nice and snug, and most size 36 jean shorts are just a little too tight for me to wear. Overall, I wear these shorts with a belt wrapped tight around my waist. If your size jean shorts are already loose on your waist, go with a size smaller on these!

These shorts took an unusually long time to arrive but they are finally here! The black is a nice dark rich, mid weight denim that I like and the fit as expected.

Our teen was not sure about jeans shorts – and these made him a convert after many, many athletic shorts – he was (previously) jeans-avoidant, at any length! These shorts are well made, soft (no need for pre-wash) fit true-to-size, and have enough flex that they fit well without any breaking in. They have great seams and stitching, and look polished when topped by a polo shirt or more casual with a tee. They have laundered well and have stood up to repeat wear over the past month with his return to high school. They are a great pair of jeans shorts – and the black color goes with everything.

Welcome back to the 80’s and the decade that was owned by “Marithe Francois Girbaud” aka Girbaud jeans and shorts.. for any familiar- you know these were the bomb!! For those unfamiliar.. these were worn baggier (welcome to the beginnings of bagging your pants..!!) these of course are the short style!! Just like Girbaud’s summer line.. it’s truly a total flashback!
Ordered in x36.. they fit as expected! The loose fit is just that- loose! These have a baggier fit all throughout- waist, thigh and leg.. these are definitely a relaxed style of shorts. Created to resemble the standard 5 pocket denim jean- they have a lighter weave but, aesthetically look the part of “cut-off jeans!” all pockets function and these have belt loops.. Which is a good thing bc, you should plan on needing a belt for sure! For reference: ordered for my husband who’s 6’4”, 205lb., 35×36.. we chose 36 to insure the fit. The fact he was in his 20yr old prime decade during the 80’s… and he loved everything about these the 1st time around.. ohh, the power of nostalgia!!
As for care- wash on cold with similar colors.. these did bleed a tiny bit the first few washes. Bc, of roomier fit- we machine dried on warm and had no issue with shrinkage! So, it’s something to keep in mind if ordering.. do your best to get your exact match in size- bc, they won’t shrink near enough to change sizing.. Ohh, and no need to size up! Shorts have same aesthetic’s as a pair of denim jeans.. just simply at a shorter length! Im told these are comfortable and expect the more wash/wear.. the more that keeps improving.

Quality is good and pants are as comfortable as I could imagine jeans being. These are definitely not for super hot days but good for mid 70s and below. The stitching is great and they’re not tight at all. Since they are slightly thinner than most jeans, I find the fabric to scrunch in areas I prefer them not to. The zipper and buttons seem high quality and overall, if your looking for pants on a cooler spring or fall day, these fit the Bill.

These run a bit big and are are fairly bulky.
A size 34 was around a 35 after washing and drying.
Hits about 2 inches above knee on a 6ft 1 inch guy.
The legs are wider than pictured in the Amazon photo.
