I only ever wear Levis but it has been a few years since buying shorts. I had to return 2 times before getting the correct fit. Don’t go by what your actual waist size is because these shorts run huge! I suggest you try them on in a store to find the correct size then order them online to save on money. I ordered to my waist size using a seamstress measuring tape which is 43 and ordered a 42 and when I put them on they fell off my waist to my feet, I ordered the 40 size and same thing i then ordered 38 and I still need a belt or I look like the stupid kids who have half their ass/underwear showing. I bought a 36 and they are snug but after a few hours they stretch out and fit perfect. So don’t order to your waist size, go try them on before ordering online and you will save the hassle of multiple returns.

These Levi’s Signature Relaxed Jean Shorts have a 12” inseam, at least on the 38” waist size. I don’t see that mentioned anywhere on the Amazon product page for this item, but it is on one of the physical product labels. That puts them about 7” past my knee. Perennially too long for my style, Hip Hop and skateboarding notwithstanding. I’ll consider shortening the hem. But they’re Levi’s. The High Tide faded wash color matches that of the product page. The stitching design on the back pockets looks like a designer dragonfly and not the traditional Levis gull wing. They’re flex fabric, 99% cotton and 1% Elastane, as the product page states. But they have regular Levi’s belt loops and do not have a gathered elastic section on the waist. I may roll them up, and consider putting a couple of easily-removed stitches into the roll-ups to help them stay rolled up. But I will wear them, though mostly at home. They’ve got that Levi’s quality. Five stars.

I got these shorts for my husband. He loves jean shorts, and in a lot of ways, he’s very happy with these. They fit him exactly right at the waist—the kind of lived in wonderful fit that Levi’s are known for. He also loves the classic five pocket styling. The color is just right, somewhat faded denim blue, the classic Levi’s jeans color. Everything is great about these except the length!
The length is just…weird. It’s not a length you see much at all in men’s shorts. On a taller man, they would probably be knee length. My husband is about 5 foot 7, and on him, they are a bit below the knee. They are kind of like a capri length, which is a thing for women but not so much for men. To be honest, my husband doesn’t mind or particularly notice the length, but I think it looks odd. However, he will wear them happily for years to come, I am sure!

My husband found these to be very comfortable. He got them one size larger than what he normally wears, but it turns out these are true to size and sizing up isn’t necessary. There’s a good stretch to the fabric, they’re roomy and they’re cut quite long but he likes where they sit (the hem covers half of his knee.) He’s tried them worn with and without a bottom cuff and both look good. We’ll be getting another pair, but this time in his true size.

Im One who use to wear super baggy Jeans and Longer shorts but nowadays Like my Shorts at my Nee or maybe just below. The fit with these are longer then what is in the Photo. They go down almost to my Calf. I like the fitment besides that and they feel like they will last.
They also have 1% Elastane which makes them a little stretchy which I like. I would like even more if they were 2% like the jeans I get so they have a little more stretch. Makes it feel like I wont rip them when crouching down.
Over all the are good in feel and stretch but off on Sizing as in how long they are. The Waist fits true for me.
Utah Mom –
The shorts are made well and have an appealing fading color. The fabric is quality denim with a little stretch. The waist band measurements fit accurately. However, the shorts are so long. They come several inches below my husband’s knees and hit in the middle of the calf. He’s a fairly tall guy so that’s unusual. They’re really too long to be considered shorts and don’t reflect the picture.

Like most of my experience with Levis, going back decades to my youth, these are super comfortable with generous sized pockets that will fit a large cell phone without issue. The fabric wasn’t too heavy, but not too light either – normal, durable denim. As I get older and grow out rather than up, I found the length pretty long. Even at 6’2″, the length was below my knees for a 44″ waist. I think this probably won’t be a problem with smaller sizes, and in all other ways they were a nice pair of jean shorts.

These are nice genes… But make sure you know what you are getting before purchasing.
These genes measure 34 ½ inches from the top to the bottom. The inseam measures 11 ½ inches. The leg measures 10 ½ inches across at the bottom. Though the metal super button is only about 7 inches long… The crotch length is 12 ½ inches long. So one might say these genes are extra roomy.
These genes have very deep front pockets. The back pockets have “normal” depth, but are a bit low for my liking.
The machines are made of 99% cotton and 1% elastane. There is a bit of stretch to the material, but not a lot.
These genes are made in Bangladesh.
My 3 Cents –
If you’re looking for a pair of LONG, relaxed fit men’s shorts, you’re in luck. These are just like relaxed fit (non-skinny) jeans that end at your knees. These shorts have a lower to mid-rise rather than being high-waisted which is coming back into style. They are true to size.
I got them for my son and I asked him what he thought of them. I got a “they’re fine” (typical teenager). I had him put them on for me though and they look good on him. He’s close to 6’ and they go down almost to his knees and aren’t tight anywhere not are they too baggy.
Unlike some other Levi shorts I have ordered recently that include polyester in them, these are all cotton except for 1% elastane. They aren’t as worn in feeling and sort as the other shorts – they feel just like his regular Levi jeans. But these do have 1% elastane (spandex) in them, so they’re a little stretchy.
These shorts have a regular sewn hem with no fringe. They have your standard gold stitching around everywhere including the bottom hems pocket zipper and other seams. Typical 5-pocket shorts with button fly.
I expect that these will slightly fade over time and get softer as they go through the wash and dryer. I ordered New High Tide blue and they’re a nice medium color. With some distressing in the middle of the shorts.
– The color is a nice medium blue that will be great to match just about anything in my wardrobe.
What we don’t love as much:
– You can’t tell from the listing photo but these shorts actually flare out a little bit at the bottom so it almost looks like you’re wearing a skirt sometimes rather than shorts.
– I’d love if these came in an inseam that was 2 inches shorter too – that would be the perfect length for me. These aren’t obscene on me but I am not longer in my 20s and don’t want to draw attention to my thighs.
Overall, I’d give them a 5/5 if they didn’t flare out at the bottom. I will still wear them – they’re very comfortable and they don’t look bad — they just weren’t as expected.
Overall, my son seems happy with them so that makes for a happy momma. I would order them again.
Avid plant collector –
Great jean shorts for those who like them longer to the knee
Nice size pockets
A little distressing on the front gives a nice look
Washed & dried well with normal cotton shrinking
Nice quality heavy material

I love that these are what you expect and depend on from a known brand. This signature line of Levi’s jeans and shorts is a great value for its quality! I always love this classic light wash look and the length is always great for summer events in Florida where it’s just too hot for jeans but still a conservative length to not look too casual.

When I was younger, we used to wear jean shorts that were cut-off jeans. These are quite a bit better. The bottom hem is stitched well, so they won’t unravel like my old cut offs. The material is 99% cotton and 1% elastane. These shorts are made to last and are tough just like all Levi products. The length of these shorts is at the middle of my knee caps. There are 5 pockets, a button closure, and a good working zipper. These Levi shorts are well made.
Duane A. Priest –
These shorts were as described by the manufacturer and are designed and manufactured with attention to detail. They are everything I would expect from a Levi Strauss product.
The sizing was on target. The denim has a nice, soft finish that says “comfort” and has a bit of stretch so that they are comfortable when you’re active. The length of the shorts met my expectations as well.
I would definitely order these again… they are a well-made product and are reasonably priced.
Elazab –
I liked this short for how simple and classic it is. It is true to size. Its width is appropriate, not baggy or skinny and makes you look slim. Its length is just at or slightly below the knees level.
The fabric is exactly as expected from Levi’s showing good quality. It’s very comfortable with some elasticity and I like its color.
Brian J. Greene –
There’s nothing wrong with the material of these shorts. They’re Levi’s. Solid, classic, reliable jeans. The issue for me is the fit. They’re just ridiculously long. They go past my knees! Why are they even called shorts? If you like that style and trust Levi’s, get them. But if you want shorts to be actual shorts, don’t.
TeaandBooks –
These shorts fit my husband well. They were true to size. The length was just above his knee as he is about 6 feet tall. He likes that length in the spring before it gets too hot outside. The fabric and color were all good and they were well sewn.
Geneva Thomas –
The shorts are well-made and made of quality Jean material. They do fall quite low, though. Even on my son who is 6’ tall and 200 lbs, the size 36 falls about an inch below his knee. I do wish they were about an inch and a half shorter.
John Charles –
These shorts were way too long and way too baggy. The material is good as is the look, but they are just not designed well. They are too baggy for me. If you enjoy the baggy look, then by all means go for it.
Olynomad –
These are nice looking shorts and comfortable to wear but they are really long. My husband is 6’1″ and they go down to the bottom of his knees. The longest shorts he has by far and the leg opening is pretty wide. 3.5
Literary Vagabond –
PROS:
– Excellent denim made by one of the best brands in the biz.
– Twenty four dollars is a GREAT deal.
CONS:
– These long and baggy jeans seem to be of the ‘Hip-Hop’ style.
E. Burton –
My husband likes these shorts. They fit him well. The relaxed fit means the legs are a little baggier than I expected, but he is fine with them. They are typical good Levi’s quality. Recommended.
I love Jewelry –
Relaxed fit and true to size. Useable pockets front and back. Medium weight denim that is soft and comfortable. Easy care denim that looks great wash after wash.
Jamie and Heather Hejduk –
These jean shorts are very comfortable. They fit perfectly. It’s nice to be able to get an odd size! They go to the knee.
Amazon Customer –
All the usual pockets and shorts! the best and they look great! And, delivery was timely, too! Well worth the wait.
