Matt Paolillo –
These chino’s are pretty spot on when it comes to waist fit. They are a smidge too slim fit for me, but I’m keeping them. The material and elasticity around the waist make them super comfortable. The color was as expected too. Was a bit surprised at the low price point. I will definitely be making more purchases.

A pair of shorts, especially if you live in a hot southern climate, is one of life’s necessities. However, they can easily be fabric bearers of burden, if they fail to meet your needs. You won’t need to worry if you get a pair of Goodthread’s shorts. They take care of and stand up to tough-wearing as well. I bought two pair, one black and one brown, with the thought that if they could not keep up – I would return them. Well, they have managed to keep up and are now my favorite pairs in the 8 or so shorts that I own. They keep your things from falling out your pocket – a common complaint I have with many shorts, and look good whether they’re pressed and starched or a bit wrinkly when they are fresh from the dryer or air-dried on the line. I have the 11″ length. Sometimes they can look schlubby – but these don’t. The waist came true to size, and they’re 98 % cotton, 2% elastane. So, they give a little as you wear them and bend. This last fact is how more things in life, just like these shorts, should be.

the cuff …. The shorts are great UNTIL you WASH them…they’re still great but GET OUT THE IRON! I live on South FL where shorts are the way and shorts you HAVE to IRON are NOT COOL! They ARE lightweight and have a nice stretch and that inner button thingy is always a nice touch but the CUFF of these shorts gets SO messed up in the wash/dry. I’m sure barely drying them on low heat tumble dry would help but who knows. Great colors and great everything else… just NOT wrinkle resistant at all.

I really wanted to like these shorts however I had to return them. Material wrinkles very badly and bottom hems bunch up horribly requiring ironing every time washed. Who wants to iron shorts?
dvjac –
The shorts are fine and seem good quality. No change after one washing.
I am an older guy and haven’t had this style waist band in a long time. They are more like hip hugger style and fit below the actual waist. If you aren’t in good shape they will accent it.

I like these shorts and would buy another pair. I have longer legs and the 10″ length is just right. The amount of stretch makes these comfortable to wear. I will probably buy another pair from this line. They have a nice clean look. Side question, why are there so many cargo shorts out there? How’s much cargo do you guys need to carry?

I as weary at first, fearing they would be a little too tight and more above knee level for my taste (especially after washing), but to my surprise they fit perfectly and how I had hoped. I got a 32 this time because I have lost some inches and when I have gotten shorts in my jean size in the past, they always turned out a little looser than I expected. If you have a slim and athletic body type, you can most likely get your regular size and they should fit similarly to the picture (incrementally tighter or looser but not too extreme). But if you are average weight yet looking for shorts that conform more to the body but not too baggy, then you might want to think about going one size up. Hope this helps some people.

This is just the color I was looking for and the fit is just as I expected. I would have considered buying more in other colors, but the manufacturing quality of this is terrible. I’m keeping this pair because of the color only. Otherwise I would return.
Appear to be machine assembled and all the various hems are “off” as soon as you wash them the first time. The waistband gets twisted and both hems at the bottom appear to have been misaligned with this “stretch” fabric at the time of assembly, so when you wash them, the hems twist.
I can go through the work of trying to flatten them by hand or even use and iron, BUT REALLY!?
I have similar items from other sources that were just as economically priced and no one of them as this issue.
Very disappointed in Amazon on this one.
One-of-a-Kind –
First, let me say something positive. I need a slim fit, even though I have a 36-38 waist. I like the way these fit my flat butt and slimmer thighs… That being said, I am also 6’3″ and these are NOT “11 inch inseams”. The naysayers were right about shrinkage. After one wash, the inseam barely tops 9″. So, if you a not too tall and you have a streamline posterior, these might be for you. One more thing, the seams also pucker after washing. You may need to grab a steamer or a flat iron if you’re “going out”.

I didn’t think much about it when I bought these shorts to try. I’m generally suspicious of the Amazon brand for clothes, but have found them to be overall really well made and most importantly, they fit! These shorts are super comfortable and have washed well. The only thing that I’ve noticed is that they do wrinkle a bit if I don’t fold and put them away soon after washing and drying, but they tend to smooth out after I wear them a bit. A great pair of shorts for a good price. Thanks Amazon!

The fit and feel of these shorts is awesome… but it wrinkled really, really bad after the first wash. First off… I almost never need to iron any of my other short as long as I pull them straight out of the drier and lay them flat. Not true with these. And second, many of the wrinkles were extremely stubborn and wouldn’t come out. I washed them on cold and dried normal… maybe you aren’t supposed to dry these shorts, and I missed that detail? Either way they are way too high maintenance for me compared to the vast majority of other shorts I’ve bought.

I was surprised how good the black shorts looked compared to the photos on here. Unlike most affordable options these came with a lighter, almost faded looking hue that looks great! Plenty of clowns on here complaining that the 11″ inseam shrinks to 10″. Honestly 10″ is pretty standard by most popular clothing makers so I am happy that they end up that length! I always size up a little for comfort but with this product it’s not really needed: a 32 is a 32.

Material is fairly thin, and difficult to get wrinkles out. Overall, not the greatest shorts, with comparitively priced Dockers D3 shorts being of much better, immediately noticeable, quality.
I have goodthreads chino pants, and they seem of much better quality in material than the shorts i received.

I bought other 11″ inseam shorts and they were a perfect fit. I then bought these and they weren’t even close to long enough. I’m 6’2″ and these came nowhere near my knees. Someone is lying about the 11″ inseam methinks. Anyway, I gave them to my brother and they fit him just fine, so all’s well that ends well. But be aware that these might not be long enough.
David –
If both pairs I bought were as good as the first I’d give 5 stars. Unfortunately pictured above is how the leg bottom of the second pair came out of the package. No amount of washing, ironing, or weighting while flattened will fix the crimp. When they get exposed to a temperature change it goes back to shape. It rubs the back of the leg/knee really uncomfortably and due to this I haven’t wanted to ever wear them 🙁
TunaDonut –
Pants fit tight in the crotch. The material is that kind of cotton that gets wrinkly and just stays wrinkly. They’re a bit difficult to keep clean. I was really hoping these would be a decent substitute for the J Crew shorts I love, but they’re not. They definitely feel cheaper, and after having them a few months and wearing them several times, I’m writing them off and recycling them.

I really want to love these shorts. They are (mostly) comfortable, fit well, and have a great selection of colors. However, they are EXTREMELY unforgiving. They wear quicky around objects in your pocket (e.g., a cell phone). If you go anywhere near oil or grease, such as when cooking, you will stain them. They also have a French button (a second button on the inside of the waist) that I find very uncomfortable when sitting.
Bruce W –
Shorts fit like they should, not baggy or tight. Good value for the money.
Jared Cohle –
These shorts look really nice on and seem to fit well..however, the material is super thin and the stitching is poor quality. They were incredibly cheap, and I don’t think they will last too long.
Debra Harding –
These shorts fit my husband incredibly well. The length is great and they’re perfectly slim. He’s 6’2″ and an ex footballer so not a skinny guy. Great color choices and the price is fantastic.
Mike Patterson –
First of all I want to say I have liked my prior amazon basics purchases. This one however is not great. They fit great but the construction is pretty poor. I washed them once and they shrank and became so wrinkled you have to iron them and @ the bottoms of the shorts they wrinkle up and you cannot iron them flat. They look like you slept in them for several days. I would return them but I washed them. I would not recommend them.

These are the best shorts I’ve bought and for a great price. They stretch just a little so I can move easy and they stay up well even when sweating. Pockets are nice size and they’re well made overall. Burgundy, aquifer and light grey are my favorite colors so far. Deep depth, fatigue and moonlight blue are also nice.

My husband hates online shopping and he is so picky about everything when it comes to clothing. I finally did a prime wardrobe box for him and to my surprise he wanted to keep everything. He said that these shorts are his new favorite shorts! Talk about a hard customer to please lol. They are well made and look very nice. The muted coloring is a favorite of both of ours and it has washed very well.

These are okay. They are wrinkly when they come out of the dryer and shrunk slightly. The inseam was 11”…now 10-10.5”. I will more than likely donate these to the Salvation Army.
