The waist size runs smaller than clothes at American Eagle and luckily I ordered the correct size. Great quality product with great style.

I bought these here because I had purchased the same model elsewhere and liked the fit. They are true to size, but since I have chicken legs, they can appear wide. I don’t care, because they feel great. Since they are a cotton blend, they don’t shrink in the wash on cold water and medium heat drying. I have ordered a few more directly from Volcom, and it appears that the older stock, like the one I purchased here, are made in China, while the newer stock comes from Vietnam. I can’t tell the difference except for small changes like the interior stitching on the waistband and the Volcom logo on the left, inside thigh exterior (the brand logo is more discreet on the newer models, using similar coloring so it’s harder to see). Bonus: they use YKK zippers, which tend to be more durable than others in my experience.

Boyfriend is 6’2″, 185lbs and I ordered him a 33″ in heather gray. They looked exactly like the photo and the modern fit was perfect for his swimmer-type frame. Will be buying more.

While technically only half pants they do the job. Bought these to protect my lower and I was not disappointed. While my calf’s and ankles are now open to attack my groin and buttocks age completely covered.

I’ll preface this review with a very transparent disclaimer.. I’ve always preferred Volcom over most brands (Billabong has come very close) because of their craftsmanship, quality and pricing. I wore volcom in high school(over 10 years ago!!), and I’m not even kidding I still have several pairs from then that have barely faded or worn over all those years. Volcom shorts have been the highest quality article of clothing (based on longevity and quality) I’ve ever purchased in my life. So that being said, I have a natural bias!
These camo shorts are right on par with my expectations. There are no loose strings or threads, the colors are nice and vivid and the stitching quality is great. I am a bigger guy (beer gut) so I’m between a 38/40 on a slimmer frame. These Volcom 40s are just a smidgen bit tighter than a few other pairs I just ordered but I’m assuming that’s based on the material as they are a little heavy/thicker. So I’m assuming they will slightly shrink as well. Now for the front pocket test… wallet, phone, keys and pew shooter. The pockets are odd… they feel deeper than they really are so I had plenty of room for everything but not exactly satisfied with how the handle/mag is barely exposed. I’d prefer they were just SLIGHTLY deeper but that being said they still passed. They are the perfect length down my legs… not too low but definitely not right at my knees either. Pretty much the gold locks zone of length IMO as I’ve noticed other brands have started adding a just little length to their short lines.. I’m happy to see the quality is still as excellent todays as it was years ago.

I do Crossfit and that’s caused me to get beefy thighs and muscular tush. I’ve struggled to find nice fitting and stylish shorts for a while, and I have been incredibly impressed by the Volcom Vmontys. After the first pair, I went out and bought 3 more colors. The wife thinks they look great!

These feel really sturdy without being stiff, they’re still soft and easy to move around in. They’re also the length I prefer which is past my knees, however I’m very short, 5’4”. The black ones are also darker than how they’re pictured on the website, which I was hoping for.

Really like the shorts. The length could be a little longer like 24″ outseam, that be perfect. But still like the charcoal grey true to color. I made a mistake and ordered size 30, I’m a 28, wanted it hang low on my hips. The combination of cotton, recycled polyester and spandex is good, minimize shrinkage.

Love these shorts, I haven’t worn shorts in public in over 15 years due to my chicken legs haha but seriously I’ll keep this short (haha) it hugs/tapers close to knees, so just wear high crew socks and enjoy the summer!

These were fakes I tell you! But I will say however, that they were at least of higher quality faker. The materials looked good and the craftsmanship wasn’t bad. I noticed that the Volcom slash running across the back of the shorts was broken up into two sections instead of one solid line. That and the very bottom of the shorts where the side hem is tended to flip out a little bit instead of laying flat.

I love these shorts I don’t like nine to long or baggy but also not to tight and that above your knees look so there right in-between. I keep loosing and gaining weight so got a size 34 but prolly would of been better size 33 but they still fit. They do seem to stretch out in the waist after wearing them a lil bit. I’d like some feedback on best way to wash and dry these shorts tho! Thanks

I’ve bough these over and over. I’m 5,9 210 the size 36 with belt sits at the top side of knees maybe a little higher. I wear at work jets pizza and doing yard work. Just quick wipe with wet rag and there nice enough to just change shirts and go do something nice.
