I have tried a number of board shorts for swimming. these are actually comfortable, flattering, and something I would happily wear all day. People said they run small the large fit perfect for me, I’m 5’9. Elastic waist is comfy and length is perfect for tubing and chasing kids around the river.

These are made of the same inner mesh and outer fabric as typical men’s swim trunks. I am 5’9” 180lbs and the XL fits perfectly. Waist covers my belly button, inseam length doesn’t ride up when I walk. I’ve ordered additional pairs twice now.

I purchased these to wear with a tankini top for a higher level of modesty and because panty bottoms and boy shorts do not look good on me. I am 5’3 and weigh 145lbs – 150lbs with more flab in my thighs, hips, and waist than I care to admit. I normally wear a Medium or 8, but based on sizing charts and other reviewers, I ordered a Large. The Large fits great! Very comfortable. I will probably use these as exercise shorts, too, they are so comfortable!
The front closes with Velcro, and the drawstrings tie for additional adjustment. The inside has a mesh panty lining that is comfortable with or without a swimsuit panty bottom. The pocket on the right side will be very handy during workouts to hold my phone or AirPods.
Very happy with this purchase! Will probably purchase more colors!

I ordered these shorts to wear kayaking. I was hoping they’d fit right as my size wasn’t listed on the chart. Based on my measurements I thought the 3X might work. I was right! I am 5’9 and weigh about 200 lbs. The shorts fit perfectly. The quality is good and I love the length (hits about halfway to knee). I’m looking forward to wearing them. Will probably order another color.

These fit well, are made very well, and can hold your essentials without having to drag a purse along. I am going to purchase additional pairs to wear daily. Get yourself some.

I bought these for a float trip and love them. Bayleaf runs notoriously small, so pay attention to the sizing, but I went by their sizing chart and was perfectly happy. DON’T ORDER YOUR STANDARD SIZE. Base your size on their sizing chart and you’ll be very happy. Even on my tubby self these were cute and flattering. Highly recommended.

The customer service from this company is excellent! They took the initiative to read the review I left and reached out about it. They offered me a second pair, and they came in perfect condition! Like I said in the original review, the shorts came with a manufacturing defect with the velcro on the shorts not completely sewn down. I managed to stitch it back into place, but I’m so glad I was sent a second pair and that the customer service representatives were very kind. I will be purchasing again from this company!!
OLD REVIEW:
The shorts themselves are great, I love the waistband and the length isn’t a problem for me — it’s just above the knee. However, the velcro on the shorts I received was not sewn all the way down (see photos), and it’s going to be a pain to sow it back on because I have to be careful to not sow the second layer of fabric as well, or it’s going to be quite noticeable. I would return them, but I like the shorts enough to just sow them and I don’t feel like going through the hassle of returning them. I guess I just got a pair that had a manufacturing defect.

The length was perfect I was able to walk around all day in them like a regular pair of shorts. When we did it get wet the shape of them didn’t change they didn’t stick to my legs or get any heavier! Will be getting another pair.

These swim shorts are exactly what I’ve been looking for. The shorts hit mid thigh so they are modest. The fabric is stretchy enough to be comfortable but structured enough to fit smoothly and feel supportive.

These swim shirts are very comfortable and flattering. They were flexible, quick to dry, not binding, and I love the side pocket. The only drawback was that the waistband string kept getting snagged and pulled on Velcro front opening so be mindful. I highly recommend them and I tried a lot! I Wear 12-14 pants-the XL fit perfectly!

i was looking for a pair of shorts to wear around the house on the hottest days, and these are just right for that. they are light, straightforward, comfortable, and they dry very quickly, so if i want to hand wash them before i go to bed, i can hang them up and they will be dry by morning. they have a liner, which is what i prefer. they have apocket, too, but i would not put anything heavy, such as a phone or even a set of several keys, in it, because the shorts are so light that it would look odd. but you could stick two house keys or a bank card in it, i guess.
so why only three stars? well, they run quite small. i am not one of these people who believes that i am a size smaller than i actually am. i could wear a medium in things like shorts, but almost always buy a large, because i prefer casual clothes such as this to be loose. because i had bought another style of shorts of this same brand previously, though, i knew that the brand runs small. so i bought a size XL. they fit just about perfectly, but i have never worn an XL in anything in my life.
more importantly, though, they have a weird velcro fly. i am not sure why they require a fly at all — i just pull them on. but if they are going to have a fly, velcro is an odd choice. i worry that when i am at the gym — when gyms open again — the velcro might come open. and then too, my experience with velcro is that it gets fuzzies on it over time, and then is less able to stick to itself properly.

Bought these shorts for an upcoming trip. I used the size chart and ordered a size medium (I’m 5’7” and 131 lbs) and these shorts are too small. They are snug in the legs and pull down when I bend (will not fully cover my backside while in the water). Nice shorts but order up if you are curvy. Sadly, these will go back.
